The Kazakh National Women’s Teachrt Training University hosted a teaching and methodological seminar on the topic “The Role of Sustainable Development Goals in the Educational Process (Secondary School, University).” The event was organized by the Institute of Physics, Mathematics, and Digital Technologies and brought together university faculty, methodologists, and secondary school teachers.

The seminar was held within the framework of the university’s Development Program for 2022–2026 and the Action Plan for the 2025–2026 academic year.

The main goal of the seminar was to discuss ways to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the system of secondary and higher education — in particular, SDG 4: “Quality Education.” This goal aims to ensure inclusive and equitable access to quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. Its core principles are equality, inclusiveness, quality, and accessibility of education.

During the seminar, participants discussed the relevance of integrating the SDGs into the educational process, as well as pedagogical approaches and methods of methodological support. Special attention was given to the educational programs of the Department of Physics, focusing on improving their content and structure, and on the application of modern technologies and innovative teaching methods.

The topics discussed included the use of VR technologies in lessons, teaching methods for the “Mechanics” section using Phywe laboratory equipment (Grade 9), and explaining the topic “Ideal Gas” with the help of Pasco instruments (Grade 10).

Participants emphasized the importance of introducing innovative technologies and new methodologies aimed at improving the quality of education. Such events not only enhance teachers’ professional competence but also foster critical thinking, as well as environmental and social responsibility among students. The university plans to continue developing cooperation and experience exchange between schools and higher education institutions.
