The Department of Russian Language and Literature at the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University held a literary and musical evening titled “My Poems, Calmly Tell About My Life…”, dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian poet Sergey Yesenin.
The event became one of the university’s bright cultural highlights. Its main goal was to introduce students to the poet’s rich creative legacy and convey the depth of his lyrics, imbued with love for his homeland, humanity, and sincere emotions.
The literary and musical evening consisted of three thematic sections. The first, “Youth and Native Land,” focused on the poet’s childhood and his love for nature and his roots. The second section, “Love and the Heart’s Struggles,” explored themes of love and emotional experiences, while the final section, “Fate and Farewell,” reflected Yesenin’s philosophical reflections on life and eternity.
In the university lobby, wall newspapers and student illustrations were displayed on themes such as “Yesenin and Love,” “Yesenin and Nature,” and “Yesenin and the Homeland,” along with a photo zone conveying the atmosphere of rural life. Instrumental compositions based on the poet’s verses were played, and students enthusiastically recited his works.
The evening was not only a tribute to the great poet but also an opportunity for students to immerse themselves more deeply in the world of poetry, develop their creative abilities, and strengthen their interest in literature and spiritual values.
