On November 6, 2025, the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University hosted an international scientific and practical hybrid conference titled “Current Issues in Natural Sciences and Modern Approaches to Biological Education,” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the birth of Honored Professor Altynbek Sartaev — an outstanding scientist who made a significant contribution to the development of biological science in Kazakhstan.
Altynbek Sartaev is a renowned scholar, the author of more than 100 scientific works, textbooks, and study guides. Under his supervision, many highly qualified specialists in genetics, biotechnology, and biological education have been trained.
The main goal of the conference was to analyze the scientific, pedagogical, and methodological legacy of Professor Sartaev, promote his works among young researchers, and discuss current trends in the development of modern natural sciences.
The conference brought together scientists from leading national and international universities and research centers. During the plenary and sectional sessions, participants exchanged views on topics related to biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and the integration of STEM technologies into the educational process.
Speaking at the conference, Professor Altynbek Sartaev noted:
“Today, our country is moving actively toward digitalization. Personally, I am deeply interested in the development of artificial intelligence — this field holds immense potential. We must advance science in line with the demands of our time and strive for new achievements. Our university is the only women’s university in Central Asia, and I am proud to be part of this academic community. I wish my students success in both their scientific and spiritual pursuits.”
As part of the conference, a dedication ceremony was held to open the lecture hall named after Professor Altynbek Sartaev. This initiative aims to commemorate the name of the distinguished scientist and serve as an inspiration for future generations.
According to Elmira Imanova, Associate Professor and Head of the Biology Department’s Educational Program, the new lecture hall will allow students to study Professor Sartaev’s works and develop an interest in scientific research.
“Altynbek Sartaevich made a tremendous contribution to the development of our department. The new lecture hall provides opportunities for practical training and broadens students’ understanding of genetics,” she noted.
The classroom is equipped with modern facilities, enabling effective practical training, group research projects, and academic discussions in a comfortable and innovative environment.
