Lyuba Temnikova, a first-year student at the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University (QyzPU) majoring in Physical Education and Sports, won a bronze medal at the U20 World Grappling Championship held in Loutraki, Greece.
This victory is the result of the young athlete’s perseverance and hard work, as well as the effective sports training system at QyzPU. Lyuba honorably represented the university and brought pride to Kazakhstan on the international stage.
Sharing her impressions of the tournament, the athlete said:
“The preparation was tough. Every day I trained hard, got tired, but never gave up. I had only one month to prepare for the championship, and I gave it my all,” — Lyuba said.
She also noted that the competition in Greece left a lasting impression:
“I’ve been to many countries, but Greece will always stay in my memory. There I tested my strength and endurance,” — she recalled.
Lyuba added that her opponents were very strong: “All the participants were worthy competitors. Unfortunately, in the match against the Russian athlete I lost by the judges’ decision, although I fought to the end and gave 100%,” — she shared.
The athlete emphasized that grappling holds a special place in her life: “I chose grappling because this sport gave me strength. It taught me to fight — both on the mat and in life. Sports taught me never to give up in difficult moments,” — said Lyuba.
“Victory is not only about taking first place. For me, victory means overcoming myself and moving forward without giving up,” — she added.
Looking confidently to the future, Lyuba shared her dream: “In the future, I want to combine sports with coaching. I’d like to become a role model for children who, like me, believe in their dreams.”
The QyzPU community congratulates Lyuba Temnikova on her outstanding international achievement and wishes her continued success in sports and in life!
