On November 20, 2025, the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University hosted the university-wide historical literary contest “Sweet Book,” supported by the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences and Arts, the Department of History, and the student club “Zhas Tarihshy.”
The event was organized in alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education, with the aim of fostering historical awareness among students, enhancing their professional competence, broadening their academic horizons, and strengthening their interest in the history of Kazakhstan.
A distinctive feature of the “Sweet Book” contest was its unique format, combining book reading with culinary creativity. Participants presented the content of the historical books they had read through character portrayals, artistic works, and homemade sweet dishes. This approach enabled students to deepen their understanding of historical facts, cultivate an interest in reading, and showcase their creative abilities. Participants also shared their impressions of the books, discussed the significance of historical events for the present day, and performed stage sketches and visual presentations.
According to the results of the contest, first place was awarded to the team “Zerde” from the Institute of Natural Sciences, who received a cash prize of 30,000 tenge. Second place was shared by the teams “Zhauqazyn” from the Institute of Philology and “Alash Arqauy” from the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences and Arts, each receiving 20,000 tenge. Third place went to the teams “Batyr Bike” and “Nomad” from the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, as well as the team “Tumar” from the Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Digital Technologies. All third-place winners received a prize of 10,000 tenge and historical books.
The “Sweet Book” contest contributed to the development of students’ creative thinking, strengthened their interest in historical knowledge, and became an example of effective organization of new cultural and educational formats at the university.
