On November 21, 2025, the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, together with the Department of Physical Education and Sports, organized a scientific seminar for students titled “Entertaining Genetics: Facts, Achievements, and Their Influence on Everyday Life.” The speaker of the event was Dr. Ahmet Tokbergenov, PhD in Biological Sciences and Executive Director of Genetics Agro Trade International (Toronto).

The main purpose of the seminar was to increase students’ scientific literacy, expand their understanding of modern achievements in genetics, and demonstrate the practical impact of genetic research on everyday human life.

During the session, participants were introduced to both fundamental and contemporary concepts of genetics. They explored examples of how genetic technologies are applied in sports, medicine, nutrition, ecology, and daily life. In addition, the seminar addressed the latest advancements in biotechnology, common myths and misconceptions about heredity, and opportunities for students to grow in scientific research.

The interactive format of the event helped students learn to critically evaluate scientific information, better understand real-world applications of genetic technologies, and develop a stronger interest in scientific projects.

The seminar became a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, discussion of current ideas, and inspiration for future researchers.
