A scientific seminar organized by the Institute of Natural Sciences and the Department of Geography, was held on “Comparative Analysis of Seismic Processes in Kazakhstan and Turkey over the Last 100 Years.”

The main goal of the seminar was to study the dynamics of earthquakes in both countries, their cause-and-effect relationships, and patterns of seismic activity. The event covered geological features of the territories as well as modern research methods for predicting natural disasters, preventing them, and improving safety measures.

The seminar speaker was Professor Halil Tokzhan from the Department of Geography, Faculty of Education, Gazi University. In his lecture, the professor compared the dynamics of seismic activity, the distribution of earthquakes, and their causal characteristics in the two countries over the past century. He also discussed the geological structure and tectonic conditions of Kazakhstan and Turkey, modern seismological research methods, and provided scientific recommendations for earthquake prediction and enhancement of safety measures.

The seminar was attended by faculty members of the Institute of Natural Sciences and students of the Department of Geography. The event offered participants an in-depth understanding of seismic safety issues, modern seismological methods, and scientific approaches to preventing natural disasters. The seminar also served as an important step in strengthening international scientific collaboration and ensuring seismic safety.
