The Department of Chemistry of the Institute of Natural Sciences organized an international scientific seminar titled “Nanocomposites: Enhancing Mechanical, Electrical, and Optical Properties of Materials for Innovative Applications.”
The event was held within the framework of academic and scientific collaboration between Kazakhstan and India, providing students and researchers with an opportunity to learn about modern nanomaterials and methods for their study.
The seminar speaker was PhD, Associate Professor Krishnamurthy Ramachandran from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai. He discussed the properties of nanocomposites and nanomaterials, methods of their production, and fields of application. The professor provided detailed insights into the mechanical, electrical, optical, and thermal properties of materials, as well as their complex functional characteristics, including barrier, antimicrobial, antioxidant, and corrosion-resistant properties. He also presented synthesis methods for 0D, 1D, and 2D nanostructures in ceramic, metallic, and polymer composites.
The seminar was attended by the Director of the Institute of Natural Sciences Gaukhar Baitasheva, Head of the Chemistry Education Program Anar Zhаpekova, faculty members, and students.
Throughout the event, students gained knowledge of the features of modern nanomaterials and strengthened their scientific interest. The experience contributed to developing creative thinking, active participation in research activities, and opened new prospects for their future professional careers.
The unique physicochemical properties of nanocomposites and their ability to replace traditional materials demonstrate high scientific and industrial potential. Research and development of such innovative materials are carried out within the framework of scientific cooperation between Kazakhstan and India, ensuring the exchange of international experience, the adoption of modern laboratory methods, and the implementation of new technological solutions. This partnership contributes to the development of science in both countries, expanding joint projects in the field of nanomaterials and their industrial applications.
