Third-year students of the Choreography educational program at the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University organized a soundcheck performance titled “Another World” as part of the course “Contemporary Choreography.”

“Another World” is an expressive choreo-dramatic show that conveys a person’s inner experiences and emotional contradictions through the language of stage performance. The performance consists of five acts, each of which immerses the audience in the emotional states of the main character.

The main goal of the production is to artistically and profoundly present the inner conflicts of an individual, the stages of psychological tension, and the path from the dark corners of thoughts and emotions toward the light.

The performance helps participants recognize emotional experiences, feelings of loss and loneliness, understand the consequences of seemingly minor but misguided decisions and escapism, avoid dangerous situations during internal crises, develop an active life position through strengthening spiritual and personal resilience, and build self-protection skills as well as the ability to seek help in difficult situations.

In addition, the production introduces the audience to the process of the main character’s immersion into an “other world” and emergence from it, demonstrating ways of freeing oneself from destructive thoughts, strategies for overcoming inner contradictions, and highlighting the importance of hope, willpower, and the mind’s aspiration toward the light.

The performance is aimed at developing students’ creative abilities and emotional intelligence, increasing psychological awareness, and conveying key ideas of psychological safety and self-protection to the audience.
