At the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University, a meeting was held to strengthen international cooperation with Lianyungang Technical College (China). During the event, the parties signed a memorandum of bilateral cooperation and officially launched the joint international educational project “Kazakhstan–Zhen He Chemical Engineering College.”

Representatives from QyzPU included Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Sabit Suatay, Head of the International Cooperation Department Saltanat Dzhakubayeva, Director of the Institute of Natural Sciences Gauhar Baytasheva, Director of the Institute of Social-Humanitarian Sciences and Arts Bakhytzhan Saparov, and Director of the Strategic Development Department Nurbolat Kudaibergenov.

From China, participants included representatives of the Consulate General of China in Almaty: Education Consul Huang Xiaomin and Deputy Consul Huang Lei. The Lianyungang Technical College delegation included Vice President and Professor Wang Jianming, professional discipline instructors Dr. Xu Yan and Dr. Yang Xia, regional ICCM deputies Mr. Benjamin Leong and Mr. Nasriddin Asliddin. The event was also attended by General Manager Xu Wenxian from China Certification & Inspection Group Central Asia Co., Ltd.

According to Saltanat Dzhakubayeva, Head of the QyzPU International Cooperation Department, the project is an important initiative aimed at developing scientific and technical exchange and expanding students’ international academic opportunities.

“The program is implemented under the Belt and Road Initiative. As a result, students not only learn the Chinese language but also become qualified specialists in chemical engineering. They receive diplomas from our university as well as diplomas from the Chinese partner institution. The goal of this project, which combines education, science, and industry, is to develop students’ language and professional skills at the international level and prepare qualified specialists for both domestic and international labor markets,” she said.

This year, 37 QyzPU students began studying under the joint 2+1+1 program “Chinese Language + Chemical Engineering.” Both parties emphasized their readiness to further expand joint projects in chemical engineering, applied sciences, language training, and international academic exchange.

“In the future, academic exchanges for students and faculty between the universities, joint research projects in chemical engineering, summer schools, and short-term courses are possible. We are also exploring opportunities in medicine and biology, including pharmaceutical production and scientific research,” said Vice President Wang Jianming.

Professional discipline instructor Ms. Xu Yan commented on the content and educational process of the program: “Within the program, students master the basic concepts and technologies of chemical engineering. Practical tasks based on industrial conditions and real factory case studies are included in the curriculum. Working in teams and with production models allows students to combine theory with practice,” she said.
