The XVIII Republican Subject Olympiad in "Choreography" among university students of the Republic of Kazakhstan is being held at the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University.

The purpose of the Olympiad is to enhance the professional competence of future teacher-choreographers, support talented students, and strengthen creative cooperation between higher education institutions.

At the opening ceremony of the national competition, Beibitkul Karimova, Chair of the Managing Board – Rector of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University, wished the participants success. The Rector emphasized the importance of the choreography profession in promoting national art and culture.

The following teams from across the country are participating in the Olympiad:

  • "Arts academy" – Kazakh National Academy of Choreography (Astana);
  • "KazNAI ballet" – Temirbek Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts (Almaty);
  • "Samgau" – Mukhtar Auezov South Kazakhstan Research University (Shymkent);
  • "Zhasyn" – Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University (Almaty);
  • "Tomiris" – Mokhammed Khaydar Dulaty Taraz Regional University (Taraz);
  • "NOMAD" – Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University (Turkistan);
  • "Tomiris" – Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University (Almaty).

The Jury Members:

  • Chair of the Commission: Aliya Shankibayeva – Head of the "Stage Movement and Physical Education" Department at KazNAI named after Temirbek Zhurgenov, candidate of Art History, professor.

  • Almas Karzhaubayev – Chair of the "Choreographic Art" department at the Zhusipbek Elebekov Republican Variety and Circus College;
  • Akmaral Ilyasova – Instructor at the Alexander Seleznev Almaty Choreographic School, Chief Ballet Master of the "Saltanat" State Dance Ensemble of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • Yerzhan Doskarayev – Teacher-repetiteur of the "Saltanat" State Dance Ensemble of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • Moldir Urazaliyeva – Acting Professor of the "Music" Department at the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University, candidate of Pedagogical Sciences.
  • Secretary: Ainur Doszhanova – senior lecturer at the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University, MA.
