Lyubov Temnikova, a student at the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University, achieved outstanding success at the Asian Grappling Championships (UWW Asian Grappling Championships 2026) held in Da Nang, Vietnam. The domestic athlete secured a podium finish at the continental tournament, claiming a well-deserved 3rd place.
This year's Asian Championship was organized in accordance with the calendar of the United World Wrestling (UWW) Asian Committee, bringing together the strongest grapplers of the continent. Grappling is a martial art that relies heavily on submission holds, choking techniques, and ground fighting, demanding supreme tactical preparation and endurance from the athletes.
The pride of our university, Lyubov Temnikova, demonstrated true sportsmanship and unmatched willpower in this competition. Although her own weight is 50 kg, she competed against and defeated opponents in a significantly heavier weight category – up to 58 kg.
The Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University congratulates Lyubov Temnikova on her brilliant victory on the international stage and wishes her new milestones in future world competitions!
