As part of the first "Republic of Korea – Central Asia" Multilateral Summit held in Seoul, South Korea, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, along with representatives of several Kazakhstani higher education institutions, took part in targeted meetings and negotiations on science and innovation.

With the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a delegation led by Beibitkul Karimova, Chair of the Board – Rector of Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University, met with the leadership of Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (CUFS) during an official working visit to the Republic of Korea.

During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding international partnerships, advancing digital education, teaching foreign languages, promoting Korean language and culture, boosting academic mobility, and strengthening research collaboration between the two universities. Professor Hwi-Chang Moon, President of CUFS, emphasized that studying advanced practices in teacher education and offering new educational opportunities for students and faculty remain key priorities in the international strategy of both universities.

A key outcome of the meeting was an agreement reached under the KF Global e-School program. The initiative will broaden QyzPU students' access to international educational resources, enabling them to study the Korean language, culture, and Korean studies through modern online formats. The parties agreed to advance cooperation across four primary areas: foreign language teaching and language education; Korean language instruction and cultural promotion; digital and AI-driven education; and research and academic collaboration.

Special emphasis was placed on expanding academic mobility for both students and faculty. Specifically, the sides explored implementing short-term study programs, internships, joint courses, and online mobility options. At the conclusion of the meeting, both institutions expressed their intention to translate the agreements into concrete projects, fostering long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.

The leadership and faculty of CUFS were formally invited to visit Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University in Almaty to further specify new joint initiatives. The meeting marks a significant step toward strengthening academic ties between Kazakhstan and Korea and expanding international cooperation in education and science.
