Five scientific projects led by scholars from Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University advanced to the third stage of the municipal scientific grant competition, organized pursuant to the directive of the Head of State. These initiatives were selected among the top 70 projects out of 229 submitted applications.
Aligned with the Almaty 2050 Development Strategy, the competition aims to integrate applied scientific research into the infrastructure and economy of the metropolis. Previously, 18 projects from the university qualified for the second stage, where scholars refined the commercialization potential and practical relevance of their projects through a five-week acceleration program.
The final stage features Zhanar Tursyn’s project on manganese-based ternary nanocomposite technology for vehicle exhaust purification, Elmira Imanova’s "EcoSchool Almaty" school environmental monitoring IT platform, Mereke Tankibayeva’s "Education for All" ("Білім Баршаға" / Digital Tutor) digital platform for inclusive education, Nazira Sandibayeva’s virtual physics laboratory suite, and Sultanmakhmut Shokbytov’s "Urban Sport Map Almaty" digital sports infrastructure map.
The upcoming phase will involve project defense and expert evaluation. Authors of the highest-scoring projects will receive grant funding from the Almaty City Administration to implement their scientific initiatives.
