Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University hosted international lecture-seminars featuring representatives from the UK's leading University of Sussex.

The British delegation visited QyzPU to strengthen bilateral agreements, implement joint projects, and expand academic partnerships.

During the visit, Professor Simon Thompson, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) at the University of Sussex, conducted a practical seminar for PhD students on "Developing Sustainable Professional Learning Communities through Researching the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning."

During the session, participants discussed ways to develop professional learning communities through the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and methods to enhance the research capacity of PhD students.

Additionally, Keith Perera, Head of the Department of Education at the University of Sussex, led a seminar titled "Focus Group on AI and Education" for Master's students and university leadership.

The meeting addressed the opportunities of artificial intelligence in education, its impact on the learning process, and the effective use of AI tools in higher education.

These international lectures were organized as part of the "First Step to Science" research seminar series, aimed at orienting first-year Master's students toward the research environment, boosting academic motivation, and fostering knowledge exchange with local and international scholars.

Within the framework of this series, Zholaman Bektemesov, Director of the Science Department at QyzPU, explained the mechanisms for searching and evaluating scientific articles in the Scopus database, while Moldir Abdraimova, Director of the Department of Postgraduate Education, outlined the key requirements for successfully defending a Master's thesis. Furthermore, Anar Mukhtarova, PhD from Abai University, shared practical advice with young researchers.

Highlighting the university's international partnership, this visit enabled young scholars to connect theoretical knowledge with practical application and gain exposure to global research standards.

The three-day seminar series will continue tomorrow with another lecture by an international guest speaker.
