The Seraly Kaniyev Scientific Library of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University hosted a cultural and educational event in an informal format, BOOK PICNIC – "Read. Think. Share.", as part of the nationwide reading marathon "Reading Nation".

This initiative was organized to implement the Decree of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev "On measures to develop reading culture and build an intellectual nation" and to promote the idea of a "Reading Nation".

Aktolkin Kulsariyeva, Member of the Board and Vice-Rector for Research and Strategic Initiatives, addressed the audience, highlighting the importance of fostering a reading culture and promoting reading among students.

During the event, students were introduced to "Silent reading" and "Secret Book" formats, demonstrating their reading engagement through the Reading Passport system and interactive tasks such as "Find the Book!" and "Book Detective". Participants exchanged views on their favorite literary works and outlined a reading list for the future.

It is worth noting that this large-scale movement, aimed at engaging 50 percent of the country's population in reading culture over the next five years, seeks to unite educational and cultural organizations, as well as society as a whole, around a shared vision.

Furthermore, this event aligns closely with UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education (SDG 4).
