The Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology at Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University has launched an international program titled "Effective and Ethical Use of GenAI in Education," led by Professor Douglas Hartman from Michigan State University USA.

As part of the first day, the international expert met with faculty members from 5 departments. Faculty, research scholars, and students participated in the inaugural scientific-practical seminar held in a hybrid format (offline and online). During the initial session, participants' experience with artificial intelligence was examined, fundamental concepts of AI and its application in academic writing were discussed, and practical exercises on formulating relevant research questions were conducted.

Moving forward, the program will explore ways to utilize ChatGPT and other AI tools for developing teaching materials, personalizing learning, and enhancing assessment systems. Additionally, special focus will be given to AI methodology in scientific research, academic integrity, and ethical standards. Professor Douglas Hartman will continue holding sessions with faculty members and providing consultative guidance to early-career researchers.

The first phase of the project takes place from October 13 to November 11 on campus in an offline format through lectures, workshops, and practical seminars. The second phase will run online from November 11 to December 25, focusing on research methodology, academic publishing, and international project development.

This international initiative aims to advance digital pedagogy at the university, foster the responsible integration of artificial intelligence technologies into education, and strengthen professional collaboration with foreign partner universities.
