The Institute of Philology of the Kazakh National Women’s Pedagogical University, the Department of Kazakh Literature, and the “Nazqonyr” literary club operating under the department will host the VI Republican Traditional “Tañjaryq Readings” among undergraduate and graduate students. The event is dedicated to the 123rd anniversary of the prominent Alash poet Tañjaryq Joldyuly and will be held under the title “Tañjaryq – The Soaring Poet Who Longed for Justice.”
The primary goal of the event is to promote the creative legacy and exemplary life of Tañjaryq Joldyuly – a distinguished representative of Alash literature, public figure, poet-educator, and historical personality. The Readings aim to inspire young people to explore and research the lesser-studied pages of Kazakh literature and national history, while fostering respect for the country’s spiritual and cultural heritage.
The event will be conducted in two stages.
Stage I – Qualifying Round (Life and Works of the Poet)
Participants will:
- Answer two questions related to the poet’s biography and literary heritage;
- Recite expressively two of the poet’s works from memory;
- Present a creative task depending on their specialization:
- Poets will perform an original poem dedicated to Tañjaryq;
- Vocalists will perform one of the poet’s songs;
- Literary scholars will present a literary and academic analysis of one selected work.
- Stage II – Final Round
Participants who successfully pass the qualifying stage will compete in one of the following formats:
- Expressive recitation of one poem by Tañjaryq from memory;
- Professional performance of one of the poet’s songs.
Evaluation criteria for recitation include artistic expression, intonation, clarity of pronunciation, depth of interpretation, and stage presence.
For musical performances, special attention will be given to vocal quality, artistic interpretation, and stage performance skills. Songs may be performed with accompaniment on the dombra, guitar, bayan, or other instruments.
In the second part of the final round:
- Original poems dedicated to the poet will be evaluated based on content, artistic quality, and poetic mastery;
- Literary analyses will be assessed for both artistic insight and academic rigor.
Winners and prize recipients will be awarded special prizes, diplomas, and certificates of appreciation.
Stage I (Qualifying Round): March 19, 10:00 AM
Stage II (Final Round): March 20, 3:00 PM
Venue: Assembly Hall, 2nd Floor, 114 Gogol Street.
