• About the department

  The Department of Kazakh Literature was established in 1946. The head of the Department of Kazakh language and literature is a well-known teacher, the owner of the badge "The best employee of the Ministry of Education of the Kazakh SSR" - Zholaeva Zhamilya Zhamangazievna.

  In the 1947-48 academic year, the head of the Department of Kazakh literature was A. Mametova.

  In 1952, due to the reduction in the number of members of the Department of Kazakh Literature, A. S. Mametova resigned from her post and T. Kordabayev became the head of the joint Department of Kazakh Language and Literature.

  In 1953, the head of the Department of Kazakh language and Literature, Associate Professor

  T. Kordabayev, was dismissed from his post in connection with the transition to another job. In 1955, the head of the Department of Kazakh language and Literature was appointed Ph. D., Z. Akhmetova.

  In 1962, the post of head of the Department of Russian and Kazakh literature on a competitive basis was accepted by Ph. D., Associate Professor Akhmetov Z. A.

  In 1975, the head of the Department, Doctor of Ph. D., Professor Z. In connection with the transition to another job, Akhmetov was replaced by associate professor Kh. Sadykov.

  On September 8, 1982 (Order No. 95), K. Mynzhasarova, Ph. D., Associate Professor, was appointed Head of the Department of Literature.

  By Order No. 33 of June 3, 1991, the Department of Kazakh language and Literature was razezinili.

  The Department of Kazakh Literature in 1992-1997 was headed by Doctor of Philology, Professor

  S. Negimov. In 1998-1999 the department was headed by Ph. D., Associate Professor R. Zaikenova, in 1999-2006 the head of the department was Ph. D., Professor B. Abylkasymov.

  In 2006-2008, the department was headed by Doctor of Ph. D., Professor G. Zh. Pralieva. In 2008-2010, the department was headed by Doctor of Ph. D., Professor Ibraim B. B., in 2010-2017-Doctor of Ph. D., Professor Yerzhanova S. B., In 2017-2019-PhD, Acting Associate Professor Baltabaeva N. S., in 2019-2021-Acting Professor Sarbasov B. S. Since January 2021, he heads the department of Ph. D., Associate Professor A. A. Koshekov.

  Since the opening of the department, outstanding literary scholars have lectured here

  Z. Akhmetov, S. Kirabayev, T. Kakishev, Sh. Eleukenov, B. Ibraim, G. Zh. Pralieva, Zh. Rakhmanova, S. Yerzhanova, S. Saken, B. Zhumakaeva, etc. Academician Z. Akhmetov taught the Theory of literature until the end of his life.

  Now doctors of sciences R. Zaikenova, G. Baltabaeva, K. Zhanuzakova work at the department. The department employs experienced specialists, Ph. D., associate professors K. Abdykalyk, A. Koshekova, B. Begmanova, B. Kozhekeyeva, B. Sarbasov, B. M. Sultanova, P. Yusup, G. Nurbekova, N. Baltabayeva, B. Panzabek, Zh.Alieva.

  Over the past five years, the Department of Kazakh Literature has published 15 monographs, 31 textbooks, 25 textbooks. The team conducts a scientific and theoretical study on the topic:" Kazakh literary studies of the period of independence: New trends and directions".

  The Department has close contacts and is in cooperation with foreign higher educational institutions, mutually exchanges experience, participates in conferences and seminars. Partners of the department are the University of Nowhere Omer Halisdemir (Turkey), MuğlaSitkiKoçmanÜiversitesi (Turkey). The department cooperates with the Amsterdam Research Center "Perspective in Eurasia" and scientists from the University of Mississippi (USA).
