      Today, QyzPU hosted the XVII Republican Subject Olympiad among students of higher educational institutions in the educational program "Library Science", organized by the Department of "Information Technology and Librarianship".

      The main goal is to educate students in citizenship, create conditions for developing respect for librarianship, identify students who demonstrate special abilities and interest in studying library disciplines, as well as collect scientific and methodological experience in modernizing library education, including the transition to specialized training in senior years.

      At the Olympiad, the teams "LIBNEWAVE" of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, "Edugrace" of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University, "Bookliders" of the South Kazakhstan University named after M. Auezov and "Tashenev akparat arulary" of the University named after Zhumabek Tashenov competed with each other.

      The event consisted of three stages: Stage 1 - greeting the team (completed as homework); Stage 2 - situational tasks of the teams and the "Question-Answer" competition on the "Library Science" program; Stage 3 - development and defense of a scientific project related to librarianship. The overall result of the creative project was estimated at 50 points.

      According to the jury's decision, the teams "Tashenev akparat arulary" and "Edugrace" took 3rd place, the team "LIBNEWAVE" - 2nd place, and the team "Bookliders" - 1st place. The participants who took the prize places were awarded diplomas and prizes, each participant received a certificate, and the team leaders and jury members were presented with letters of gratitude. This event was not only a step towards improving the quality of the educational program, but also an important contribution to the formation of interest in librarianship and the training of future specialists. We congratulate all the winners and wish them new heights and creative success!
