      XVII Republican Student Subject Olympiad in the Educational Program

      As part of the events approved by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the XVII Republican Student Subject Olympiad in the “Vocational Education” program was held, organized by the Department of Vocational Education of the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences and Art. The Olympiad brought together 7 teams from higher education institutions across Kazakhstan.

      The main objectives of the event were to increase students’ interest in scientific and educational activities, evaluate their theoretical knowledge and practical skills, develop their creativity and professional competencies, prepare talented students for international competitions, and encourage their active participation in the improvement of Kazakhstan’s education system.

      The Olympiad consisted of three stages:

      • Stage I – Theoretical and test-based assessment.
      • Stage II – A creative practical task competition, where each team member completed one of the following assignments:
        • Creating an ornamental wood composition — design and woodburning a decorative pattern on a wooden board.
        • Basic garment pattern making and modeling in the subject “Design and Modeling of Clothing.”
        • Sewing an apron based on standard size 164-88-92 using a ready-made pattern under “Sewing Technology.”
        • Wet felting or soft toy knitting in the category “Decorative and Applied Arts.”
      • Stage III – Development and defense of a scientific project related to vocational education.

      The overall creative project and all nominations were evaluated according to established criteria. Based on the jury’s decision, the winning teams were announced:

      • 1st Place: “Shabyt” team from the Central Asian Innovation University, for demonstrating a high level of preparation.
      • 2nd Place: “Tvortsy Traditsiy” from Abai Myrzakhmetov Kokshetau University and “Orken” from M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University.
      • 3rd Place:
        • “ART Ledy” from the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University,
        • “Korkyt alshy asyk brand” from Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University,
        • “Sherkhan Arulary” from Sherkhan Murtaza International University in Taraz.

      Prize-winning participants received diplomas and awards. All participants were presented with certificates, and letters of appreciation were given to team leaders and jury members.
