The Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University held a solemn evening event titled “Heroism is a Legacy for the Nation, an Example for Future Generations” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.

The event was attended by university leadership, members of the veterans’ council, faculty, and students. In his speech, Chairman of the University’s Board of Directors, Omarkhan Oksikbayev, spoke about the university’s founding and highlighted the courage and selflessness of the national intelligentsia during the war years.

“During the brutal war, there was a severe shortage of teachers, and children were left without education. At such a difficult time, state leaders thought about the fate of girls in rural areas and did everything possible to establish this institution. We must talk about the patriotism, civic-mindedness, and heroism of our ancestors who gave us peaceful skies. What can we inherit from them? It is a sense of patriotism. Young people should strive to develop their country and be raised in that spirit. If our students grow up with this mindset, they will honor the heroes' legacy and find their path in life. Every citizen must bow before their sacrifice and work toward a bright future,” he emphasized.

Gaynigul Karatay, a member of the Veterans’ Council of the Almalinsky District, shared her heartfelt impression of the event:

“Tonight was very moving. Touching words and kind wishes were spoken — an example for the younger generation. We lived through the war. Despite our young age, we worked alongside adults. We overcame all hardships and lived to see peaceful times. I hope today’s youth will be educated and purposeful. May our country remain safe, and may future generations grow into worthy citizens who contribute to the Republic,” said the veteran.

During the concert, students performed patriotic songs, recited literary compositions, and created a vivid emotional experience for the audience. Events like this not only revive historical memory but also foster a sense of patriotism and humanity in the younger generation.
