At the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University, an informational and educational meeting was held with students on the topic “Youth Reproductive Health and Prevention of STIs” on the initiative of the Center for Mental Health Development. The event took place from May 12 to 16, 2025, as part of the program of the National Commission on Women’s Affairs and Family-Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The main goal of the event was to raise awareness among teenagers and young people about sexual and reproductive health, modes of transmission and prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), as well as to reduce stigma and psychological barriers when seeking medical help.

The speaker was Karlygash Septenova, a pediatric and adolescent gynecologist and specialist at the City Human Reproduction Center. She openly and confidently discussed with participants the fundamentals of reproductive health, safe behavior, diagnosis and treatment of STIs, and the importance of regular medical check-ups.

The meeting was held in an interactive format — students actively asked questions and received professional answers and practical recommendations. The speaker emphasized that responsible attitude toward one’s own health is the key to a successful future and sustainable development of society.

At the conclusion of the event, informational materials and brochures were distributed, listing institutions where qualified assistance can be obtained.

This event is part of a systematic effort to promote health culture and improve reproductive literacy among student youth.
