A collective monograph by Professor Kunimzhan Abdykhalyk of the Department of Kazakh Literature titled “Ult adebietіndegі Alash qozgalysynyn korіnіsі zhane ziyalylar tulgasy” (“The Reflection of the Alash Movement in National Literature and the Image of the Intellectuals”) has been published. The book was prepared for the university-level course Kazakh Literature.
The monograph was developed under the guidance of Professor Kunimzhan Abdykhalyk as part of the grant project of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, No. AR14871300: “Reflection of the Alash Movement in National Literature and the Personality of the Intellectuals.” Drawing from works of modern Kazakh literature, the monograph analyzes the portrayal of figures from the Alash movement who dedicated their lives to the struggle for national interests.
The presentation of the book was attended not only by scholars from the Faculty of Philology but also by professors from the M. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art and Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, who praised the scholarly value of the publication.
Chapters such as “The Place of the Alash Movement in Kazakh History,” “The Alash Movement in National Literature,” “The Publicistic Work of National Intellectuals,” and “The Image of National Intellectuals in Contemporary Kazakh Literature” provide a comprehensive and, for the first time, in-depth analysis of how the Alash movement is reflected in the national press and literature of the early 20th century.
Professor Kunimzhan Abdykhalyk shared insights into the novelty, structural features, and content of the collective monograph within the framework of Kazakh literary studies. During the presentation, scholars and doctoral students discussed current issues related to the teaching of Alash literature and exchanged their perspectives.
