On May 17, 2025, the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University (QyzPU) hosted the first-ever national Olympiad “IMPACT STUDENTS” for 3rd–4th year undergraduate students and master's students from universities across the country. The competition focused on the disciplines of mathematics, physics, computer science, and primary education methodology, aiming to enhance the professional skills and qualifications of future educators.
The event was organized by QyzPU in collaboration with the Republican Physics and Mathematics School (a non-profit joint-stock company), with additional support from the personal foundation of Berik and Bayan Kaniyev.
Approximately 100 students and master's students from leading Kazakhstani universities participated, including:
- Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University
- Al-Farabi Kazakh National University
- Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University
- Suleyman Demirel University
- Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University
…and others.
Participants completed specially designed tasks in their respective subject areas, attended masterclasses by experienced educators from the Republican Physics and Mathematics School, and learned about the unique features of its educational process.
At the end of the Olympiad, the top-performing students were awarded diplomas of I, II, and III degrees, while all participants received special certificates.
This initiative stood out as a clear demonstration of support for high-quality teacher education and professional development. The organizers plan to hold the Olympiad regularly in the future, further contributing to the training of skilled and competitive educators in Kazakhstan.
