      Almaty Honors the Legacy of Abai Kunanbayev

      On August 10, in celebration of Abai Day, a solemn ceremony was held in front of the Palace of the Republic in Almaty, organized by the city’s Akimat. The event was dedicated to honoring the great poet, thinker, and reformer Abai Kunanbayev.

      On this day, city residents and youth — including activists from the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University (QyzPU) — recited Abai’s poetry and prose, reflected on his life journey, and acknowledged his invaluable contribution to Kazakh literature and spiritual development.

      Students from the Women's University added a special atmosphere to the event, showcasing their creative talents and deep understanding of Abai’s philosophy. As representatives of the new generation, they expressed their commitment to preserving and promoting national values, inspired by the poet’s ideas of humanism and morality.

      At the conclusion of the ceremony, participants emphasized the importance of preserving Abai’s legacy for future generations. The event ended in a solemn atmosphere.
