On September 19–20, the Kazakhstan Judo Championship for athletes under 23 took place in Almaty, bringing together over 400 judokas from 20 regions across the country.
Among the medalists were second-year students majoring in Physical Education at the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University (QyzPU): Ayaulym Turdike – Silver Medal, Nurai Kamzayeva – Bronze Medal
Ayaulym Turdike shared her emotions: “The moment I stepped onto the podium was truly emotional. It’s the result of months of hard work. All of my opponents were strong, but I approached every match fully prepared. I trained twice a day for two hours.
My biggest support and mentor is my father and personal coach, Yeldos Zhumakhanov. Balancing education and sports is a challenge, but I try my best. The university has a very strong sports culture, which inspires me.
I aim to represent QyzPU at the highest level. I’m not planning to stop here — next are Asia, the world stage, and hopefully, the Olympic Games!”
This success is the natural result of months of training, high-quality coaching, and the deep-rooted sports traditions of QyzPU.
The victories of these young women not only enhance the university’s reputation in both education and sports but also motivate the younger generation to pursue new heights while balancing academics and athletic ambition.
