      Lecture Series “The Long Shadow of Early Modernism” Launched

      On September 22, 2025, the first session of a new educational project under the Qazaq Ballet Creative Lab took place — a lecture by Linda Kvitkina, a second-year doctoral student at the University of Oxford, titled “The Long Shadow of Early Modernism: Fuller, Diaghilev, Graham.”

      During the session, participants had the opportunity to explore the art of early 20th-century dance through the lens of a historian. Linda Kvitkina’s academic interests include corporeality and movement, dance history, and the interconnection between dance, politics, and historical context.

      For young researchers, students, and all those interested in art and culture, this is a unique chance to gain inspiration from international expertise, broaden professional perspectives, and directly engage with an expert from Oxford.

      The project is supported by the Department of Choreography and Art Management at the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University.
