    • QyzPU Develops a Foundation Program Concept

      QyzPU has introduced the concept of a new foundation program aimed at preparing international applicants for successful studies at the university.

      The main goal of the program is to provide high-quality pre-university training that will enable students to:

      • master the languages of instruction (English, and Russian or Kazakh if necessary),
      • acquire basic knowledge in STEM subjects relevant to their future major,
      • develop academic and research skills, as well as soft skills,
      • and successfully adapt to the educational environment at QyzPU.

      Key components of the program:

      1. Language Training – Academic English (EAP), Russian/Kazakh language courses in leveled groups.
      2. STEM Module – Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science (depending on the future specialization).
      3. Academic Skills – Academic writing, research methodology, time management.
      4. Soft Skills – Communication, teamwork, leadership.
      5. Cultural Adaptation – Introduction to the higher education system in Kazakhstan, mentoring and support.
      6. Assessment and Flexibility – Diagnostic testing upon entry; option for an intensive or accelerated study format.

      Program Implementation Roadmap:

      • Needs assessment of international applicants and benchmarking (NU, KazNPU, KazNU),
      • Curriculum development (EAP, language modules, STEM, soft skills),
      • Recruitment of qualified faculty, including those with international experience,
      • Development of academic and material resources (resources, labs, e-learning, mentoring),
      • Pilot launch of the first cohort (20–30 students) with monitoring and feedback,
      • International accreditation (e.g., BALEAP),
      • Program scaling with the addition of new directions.

      The QyzPU Foundation Program will become a reliable bridge for international students seeking high-quality education in Kazakhstan and a smooth transition into the country’s academic and cultural environment.
