On October 8, 2025, the Department of Preschool Education at the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology held a methodological seminar on the topic “Organizing Various Types of Children’s Activities Through Play.”

The aim of the event was to highlight the importance of play in developing cognitive, creative, and social skills in preschool children, and to train educators and future specialists in modern methods of effectively organizing the educational process through play-based approaches.

The seminar’s honorary guest was Ümit Tompay, Senior Expert of the Department of Informatization and Public Relations at the State Institution "Institute for Early Childhood Development" under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In her speech, Ümit Tompay discussed the impact of play on a child’s personal development, and the ways in which thinking and speech can be developed through play-based methods. She also demonstrated 2–3 play-based exercises, explaining their structure and the key aspects of their effective use. This practical segment drew particular interest from seminar participants.

The seminar was conducted in an interactive format: attendees completed practical tasks, took part in team games, and engaged in discussions. This approach helped combine theory with practice, encouraged creative thinking, and fostered a spirit of collaboration in the educational environment.

The event was attended by faculty, students, master’s and doctoral candidates of the Department of Preschool Education, who not only exchanged experiences but also gained deeper insight into the role of play in the holistic development of the child.
